The Spring 2020 meeting of the Southwest Commission on Religious
Studies will incorporate the theme of Religion and Crisis into several of its
sessions. It will feature workshops, a dramatic performance, plenary speakers,
networking, and a reception and awards ceremony, in addition to an array of
scholarly papers and round-table discussions in the fields of archaeology, biblical
studies, and religious studies – all at a new venue near the DFW Airport. The
freshly-remodeled Dallas Marriott Las Colinas overlooks a lake with a running
trail, and is within walking distance of a host of restaurants. This year’s regional
meeting promises to be an excellent one.
